Are You Common Man?

Recently, opposition party parliamentarians said, "the current budget will create uncommon hardship to a common man". I began to think, if this is true, then should we change the budget or change the common man? Which one is possible, easier or sustainable – changing the budget or change the common man? Who is this common man?

Who is a common man?

Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a common man (commoner) as, "person lacking class or rank distinction or special attributes". Other dictionaries defines a commoner as "a person of average means and life". Another definitions, I am told is, "a person with no significant contribution to the society".

I think I like best the definition that placed a common man as a man of average means and life. Why would a person remain common if being that brings nothing but pain and suffering?

I believe it is because – this person has chosen to remain average:

-Average Thoughts: Self, Survival, Me, Myself, My Family

-Average Dreams: Enough resources to live average life

-Average Learning: Just enough to be able to do my work

-Average Actions: The bare necessary to get by

-Average Results: Predicated by the action

Are Common men born or made?

If you take a commoner being a person with average life – leading to little or no significant contribution to the society, then I believe it is safe to say that some people are born common (though they don't have to die common) and some become common by virtue of their actions or lack thereof.

You can substitute the word common with poor and you will still be describing the action of a common man. The illustration below depicts 10 things that common (average)[poor] people do. Do any of these and you can guarantee your stay in commoner status.

How do you defect from being common?

How do you defect from the commoner status? Follow the advice of Steve Harvey, he said, "watch what poor (common) people do and swear not to do it, ever"

You can (we ought to) create a plan (begin with a vision, dream) followed by strategy to navigate from commoner status to uncommon status.

In addition to NOT doing what common (poor) people do, here is what you will need to BE and DO if you will get a transfer from commoner world to un-common men island:

1. You will need to have un-common DREAM,

2. You will need to have un-common FAITH,

3. You will need to have un-common MENTOR,

4. You will need to have un-common ACTIONS, and,

5. You will need to have un-common PERSISTENCE.
