- a sign giving information such as the direction and distance
to a nearby town, typically found at a crossroads; warning, instruction such as
speed or alert pedestrian crossing ahead.
Imagine
you are driving on a busy public road, full of cars, cyclists and pedestrians
but there are no road rules, you can drive any side and speed, there are no
road marks or road signs – would you feel safe?
What chance do you have in arriving at your destination in one piece?
Imagine
again you are driving in a foreign city and you arrive in a major intersection
where the motorway splits into four major highways – but there are no overhead
signs to tell you which one leads to where (and you have no GPS – Navigation
Equipment in your car)…frustration
is the word that comes to mind.
It is
not enough to drive safely; you have to drive in the right direction. This is
why we have road signs and road marks.
Road
rules, signs and marks are there to instruct, direct, inform and warn all road
users with safety and security as the primary aim. They are there to guide all
road users so that each can reach their destination safely.
As we
travel in life towards our destiny, DreamLife, to live a life as we would like
to live – and life as we were intended to live; along the route the almighty
(universe for others) has placed road signs and road marks for everyone so that
they act as our guide and safe guard to our intended destination.
Failure
to read, understand and abide by the life road signs and road marks will lead
to delays in arriving to your destination or end up in a wrong destination all
together.
The
following are what I believe to be the three major road signs [PhD – Peace, Happiness, Delivery] to DreamLife:
1. Peace
– inner
calmness
Peace as
a signpost to DreamLife is not absence of battles and struggles, it is rather a
product of inner assurance, inner knower, that comes from knowing you are at the right place and are
doing the right thing. It transcends from a soul that is not conflicted on what
it is becoming in the process of what it is doing.
When you
teach, you become a teacher – educator, one that brings
lights to those in darkness.
When you
mentor, you become a coach – guide, counselor, trainer,
instructor and a teacher.
When you
steal, you become a thief – crooked, bent in mind and
spirit, violator of others
Are you
at peace, deep down inside, in what you become out of what you do? Do you find
rest at the end of a busy and hard day doing what you do? If not, re-evaluate,
your soul is communicating to you that you have missed a turn.
Judas
traded (betrayed Jesus Confidence) for 30 pieces of silver; he thought he had a
good deal. In the end he threw the money away and killed himself – he had no
peace in the person he had become, he had become a traitor.
Always
strive to go to a place where you are at peace in what you do and what it makes
you become…money or no money, fame and power or not…are you in peace within?
Travel
back to the place and time where you were most happy. If you examine the root
cause of your happiness, you will discover it was a result of deep fulfillment and satisfaction at the time. Fulfillment and Satisfaction is a product
of being and doing what is right at the time and place.
Nobody
likes to stay in an environment where they are not happy; we are designed to
function properly when happy. We are designed to always seek things and places
that makes us happy the most – the tragedy is, we don't realize, to be truly
happy, we must be and do who we were meant to be.
When you
feel sad (unhappy,
unfulfilled and unsatisfied), take a closer look…you must have wondered away from your path to
DreamLife. Always strive to surround yourself with people, places
and productive
activities
that takes you back to a happy place, without infringing the happiness of
others – of course.
We know
something is wrong when a car won't move; we clearly understand a plane needs
fixing when it runs speedily along the runway but would not lift off the
ground…why? They would not function the way they are designed to. No sane
person takes a car to the garage for not flying, it will be absurd and that
person will need to see a Doctor.
Delivery
as a road to DreamLife signpost is a function of design, input and output. A
brand new plane will need fuel and a competent pilot to fly, right? Likewise, a
brand new no squabble car needs fuel and a driver to move.
Competence
and Productivity [Producing] (or lack of it) is a clear sign either we are not
doing the right thing or we are doing the right thing in a wrong way or we are
doing the right thing in a right way at a wrong place and or time. When you are
competent and there is no productivity i.e. you solve problems but there is no
money? STOP and reconsider your approach.
When you
become competent at delivery of something i.e. solving a certain problem, two
things happen. ONE: You attract those who NEED your competence and, TWO: You attract those who will PROVIDE for your competence. If neither
of these happens, consistently over a good period, you need to STOP and re-evaluate.
Conclusion:
When you
are in Peace and Happy in what you do and who you are becoming as a result of
what you do, AND, you deliver Competence and Productivity. Rest assured, given
time, you will arrive at the place you have designed – a DreamLife as you
desire.
